West Lancs Positive Living is a Supported Living organisation for Adult with Learning Disabilities. We are a family-led, not-for-profit organisation, where all members of the Board of Trustees are parents and carers themselves. We will be celebrating our tenth year in 2015. Initial meetings were in late 2004, the name West Lancs Positive Living was “born” on the 8th February 2005.
The Trustees are committed to creating the best possible services for individuals with a Learning Disability in West Lancashire. We provide services that promote quality of life and social inclusion by supporting individuals and their families to have choice and control in all aspects of their lives.
Our approach is unique and tailor-made to suit the person with a Learning Disability to lead a full and happy life. To ensure each individual receives the best life possible, we use a variety of Person Centred Approaches to learn what each person needs and wants.
The service we provide involves the whole family, friends and other key people in the life of the individual who needs advice and support. This ensures that each person’s dreams and aspirations are recognised and that individuals with a Learning Disability who comes to us is enabled and empowered to live valued lives in their own communities.
